Ingredients:
Sauce:
- 1 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup butter (cut into small pieces)

- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Apples:
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 3 large apples (peeled, cored, and cut into 8 wedges each)
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- Vanilla ice cream
- Toasted pecans (optional)

- Put brown sugar, cream, butter, and honey in a pot.
- Cook on low heat, stirring until sugar dissolves. Boil for 3 minutes.
- Add spices, a pinch of salt, and pepper. Stir in vanilla. (You can make this ahead and reheat.)

Cook the Apples:
- Melt butter in a large pan.
- Add apple slices and sprinkle with brown sugar.
- Cook for about 12 minutes until apples are soft and a bit brown.

- Put ice cream in bowls.
- Pour warm sauce over ice cream and add cooked apples on top.
- Sprinkle with pecans if you like.
